Conclusion/Overall

My role during the project was to do level design of the game where i have laid out an idea of what i wanted to include and what other team members wanted to include as well after such feedback i was able to work on the project and create one of the levels. I have decided to work on the dungeon level/salt mine level of the game due to a fact that one of the team members have produced a lot of assets that were coherent with the said level idea meaning i could use them.   If we were to do the project again i think we should place focus on including more levels in order to get a more content within.  However, i think what went well was that at the end of the day together we have built a functioning level and we have overcome the difficulties that were standing in the way.  Showing the perseverance and strength within our team.As well as  after research we knew what game we want to make and were striving together to achieve this goal. And everyone did their job to d...

Communications with other members

Communications with other members Overall, I think that the communication in-between the group was good this is because in group chat people were sharing their ideas and concept arts that have made. As well as we have discussed the main points of the game etc. Like what type of game we want to make, how many levels should it include, as well as people have been asking each other what are their strengths and weaknesses meaning that people were working within their area of expertise/something they would comfortable in. Ultimately, meaning they would most efficient in.  To further enhance our communication we have used GitHub and Google Drive as a source of exchanging game files between each other. This meant that everyone within the group was kept up to date with the latest version of the game and components within it like scripts and models. At the beginning there were some issues with some people using GitHub as they were not used to the environment/nature of the software how...

Today i have added in gradient to the UI elements in order to make them easier to read and stand out.

Today i have been further improving the game by including props to the game as well as adding in the post processing to make the game more pleasing to look at. Before post processing After post processing Some of the post processing i have added in includes vignette effect, depth of field, motion blur and colour saturation.  When it comes to depth of field i have selected a bokeh mode in order to reflect a more realistic blur where the camera focuses on the object and the rest of the plan is being blurred.  Also, i have added in a vignette effect in order to create a darker mood for the game which would reflect the fact that the game is set in the dungeon/mine. For motion blur I have added it in some capacity in order to create a smoother gameplay effect. Below you can see some of the props i have included within the game like barrels, pillars and bricks. This makes the game more interesting and not shallow. I have used pre-made prefabs from asset store due to time constraint....

Today i have decided to focus on lighting in order to set the correct mood in the game as you can see below the torches are giving off the light. I have achieved this using spot light as a way of lighting up the scene. Furthermore, i have animated torch using 3 sprites that are playing on the loop during the game.  Also, i have been trying to figure out how to make it so the light turns off and on however after some trial and error I have given up as the game kept on giving me errors with the script. And decided to work on other aspects of the game that are more crucial. Furthermore, i have started to work on animating the bat and trying to make him move but that didn't play out as he is just standing still. Meaning i will need to try and work on it further. As well as if you can see the bat is dropping the grenades which are dealing damage.

Unity Session- 9th December

Today's session was a check up onto how our game is doing and whether we have any questions related to the game and Kristaps would help us with some of the queries we had.

During today's work i have used some of the scripts from our Github repository in order to make the game working as well as i have included UI.Appear Script which shows an image when an object with a "player" tag collides with the object in this case i have applied to the mirror at the end of the level in order to show level Complete image.
