Unity - 28th October

During today's session we have been introduced into 3d character animation which is similar to what we have done last semester but with additional depth to it as the character is 3d instead of 2d. Meaning that there are more variables to animate. Throughout the session we have been using Unity tutorial website which i have been using in order to catch up with something if i didn't understand or I could go ahead when i understood and didn't want to wait. Furthermore, to control character we have been using Animator and Animation tabs in Unity.  Furthermore, we have also created a script in order to make character turn and switch automatically in-between two animation modes this meant that the character was more sophisticated and engaging rather than simply standing still. Lastly, i have added a Level Plane which was included in the assets folder in order to create a platform on top of which my character can walk and explore. As well as i have added CineMachine camera which ...

During today's session we have mainly looked at reflective writing which will be useful after our ACE Event. Furthermore, we have been introduced into 3 models/ideologies of reflective writing. Where one of the models is called Gibbs model which focuses on using prompt questions in order to force you to think reflectively  Another model we have explored is called John's model of Structured Reflection which follows a structure of a questionnaire-like and by asking open questions where one of the questions is "How was I feeling and why did I feel that way?" This model is the most effective if a person had previous experience they can compare it to. Lastly, we have explored the Driscoll's Experimental Learning model which ultimately asks 3 questions What, So what , Now What?. To me personally this model is the most straight forward and the one I will use when it comes to analysing my ACE performance purely due to a fact that it is simple and effective in my opinion....

During today's session we have explored what makes a good CV and what to avoid when making a CV. Furthermore, we have discussed that in today's society you have to stand out with your application this is because majority of people are using templates in order to fulfill their application.  In order to make a good CV it should look professional Prioritise your name and Surname/should be biggest Add in your address employer might look up where you are based if you are far off it might show dedication from your side.

During today's session: We have been introduced into HDRI haven which is a website which allows you to download 360 degrees images and later on add them onto Unity in order to create a realistic surrounding. We have added a tool called Probuilder which helps you create level as it uses presets of various shapes i.e. Stairs, Sphere. Furthermore following shapes have already preconfigured points which means that player can interact with it straight away without adding scripts. Furthermore we have added in script for Game Over text meaning that whenever a player falls 10 squares game will automatically detect to take away all of the health points as well as write text Game Over. Later on we have also added in a script which restarts the scene meaning that the player can start over again.

During today's session we have focused on discussing Myers Briggs test results of some group members and have discussed whether we think they represent our ideology/perspective.   Whereas in the second section of the lecture we have focused on market research of the 3d/2d platform games. For example we have looked at Donkey Kong Century which have been released on SNES and for the time it has used advanced technology as they have made 2D sprites but have made them look 3D by doing post-production beforehand and just uploading 2D sprites onto SNES. This for the time was revolutionary because it is obvious that the console didn't have enough horse power to render animated 3D sprites however developers were thinking ahead of the time and outside of the box in order to accomplish outstanding results.    Another takeaway from the lecture was that when design make sure your character stand out in order to make sure that the player knows who is the protagonist of the ...

Result of the Myers Briggs test. Personally I somewhat agree with the results because I personally think that I am eager to have innovative ideas. As well as I am strongly motivated to have long-term plans for the future. In However, after resarching the results with possible jobs i have found out that they suit people who are in higher hierarchy and not with job that are related with creative works.

Teamwork Practices- 8th October

During today's session we have watched videos that were provided by the ACE group which were discussing what examiners are looking for and how to look professional.  Further on we have explored an idea of  Myers Briggs test which a lot of conglomerates use in order to find out where a following individual fits in the team whether they are extroverted or introverted etc. For companies this is useful because it allows them to put a person in the right place meaning they will be working efficiently and stress-free.
