Teamwork Practices- 12th October
During today's session we have focused on discussing Myers Briggs test results of some group members and have discussed whether we think they represent our ideology/perspective.
Whereas in the second section of the lecture we have focused on market research of the 3d/2d platform games. For example we have looked at Donkey Kong Century which have been released on SNES and for the time it has used advanced technology as they have made 2D sprites but have made them look 3D by doing post-production beforehand and just uploading 2D sprites onto SNES. This for the time was revolutionary because it is obvious that the console didn't have enough horse power to render animated 3D sprites however developers were thinking ahead of the time and outside of the box in order to accomplish outstanding results.
Another takeaway from the lecture was that when design make sure your character stand out in order to make sure that the player knows who is the protagonist of the game. This can be seen in many games i.e. Limbo, Unravel where there is evident contrast between character and the background of the game.
