Conclusion/Overall

My role during the project was to do level design of the game where i have laid out an idea of what i wanted to include and what other team members wanted to include as well after such feedback i was able to work on the project and create one of the levels. I have decided to work on the dungeon level/salt mine level of the game due to a fact that one of the team members have produced a lot of assets that were coherent with the said level idea meaning i could use them.

If we were to do the project again i think we should place focus on including more levels in order to get a more content within.

However, i think what went well was that at the end of the day together we have built a functioning level and we have overcome the difficulties that were standing in the way.  Showing the perseverance and strength within our team.As well as  after research we knew what game we want to make and were striving together to achieve this goal. And everyone did their job to do it.

During level design i have stumbled upon some issues for example, i had an issue with layering of the assets where some assets were not visible due to being in the wrong layer at the time.

Another issue i have stumbled upon was related to the lighting within the game. In the game i have used a spot light which imitates the effect of a torchlight. The issue was that at some point there were too many lightspots within one area and light wouldn't work after tinkering around and trying to find out what was the issue i figured out that the issue was within the radius of each spotlight as they were interlacing with each other so in order to fix that i had to adjust the radius of each spotlight which has fixed the issue.

Another issue i have encountered was related to the bat which i originally was planning to include however after many days of trial and error i have decided to give up on the idea. Which was to have a bat which would drop garlic grenades. The system of the dropping and doing damage did work however i couldn't get the bat to fly around the space of the game. Which i have tried to do using Nav Mesh Agent and adding a new agent which would simulate the flying behaviour. Usually, whenever trying to fix an issue i try to come up with a solution by myself first this is mainly because that way i feel like i am learning more as well as when i fix the issue there is a great satisfaction from achieving success.

I think the biggest issue/problem was the time constraint mixed in with the current situation. This is because that way we would have been able to meet each other normally and discuss ideas around the table. Which would be more organic and natural than Zoom meetings .As well as this would make working on the game easier as meeting face to face for me is more impactful and easier to get your message across.

Also, we would try and make more assets in order not to rely on included unity asset store. Ultimately, meaning that the game would be more unique as it would our own original content.

Overall, when looking back at the project i would say that it went well considering the situation we are currently in and the fact that everyone was participating in some shape or form.
